Hike Description: The Dover Stone Church cave and waterfall is a gorgeous geologic wonder, tucked in the hillside beside the tiny town of Dover Plains, NY. Eons ago, melting glaciers from the last ice age formed a creek that carved away the interior of the cave’s cavern, leaving a unique opening in it’s wake. Ever since humans found out about it, it’s been utilized as a Native American hideout, a location for weddings, and more recently, for many a social-media selfie! On our stroll through the Dover Stone Church Preserve, we’ll experience cool views from inside the cave, as well as farther reaching views across the valley from an outcropping above it. We’ll also have plenty of time to top off our day with some cool ice cream at nearby Kelley’s Creamery before heading back to the city on the train.

Each Public Transit Series trip will run with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 12 in order to ensure the health and safety of all guides and participants. If the minimum has not been met 24 hours ahead of trip, we will reach out and refund, reschedule or make alternate arrangements. Liability Waiver and COVID-19 Policy must be completed ahead of hike in order to participate.

Cancellation Policy: If you cancel 14 days or more prior to the start of your trip, you will receive a full refund, less a 10% non-refundable administration fee. If you cancel between 24 hours and 14 days ahead, you will receive a 50% refund. Anything less than 24-hours is ineligible for refund, unless trip is cancelled by Girl Gotta Hike, due to dangerous conditions or any other reason.
